Changes in EPFO rules: Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has changed the withdrawal rules, giving big relief to PF account holders. A PF account holder can now pay Rs. An amount up to Rs 1 lakh can be withdrawn. As of now this withdrawal limit is Rs. It was up to 50 thousand.
The new changes will be effective from April 16
The changes related to withdrawal for treatment by EPFO are effective from April 16, 2024. EPFO's application software was modified on April 10 to implement these changes. Under which withdrawal can be made under 68J.
This change for the treatment of serious illness
Due to the high cost of treatment of serious illness, EPFO has received approval from the Central Provident Fund Commissioner to implement this change. The PF account holder can withdraw this amount for the treatment of relatives suffering from serious illness or rare disease.
Follow this procedure to withdraw from PF
- EPFO website epfindia.gov.in enter into
- Then click on Online Services option and fill the respective claim form
- Now verify your PF account by adding the last 4 numbers
- Then click on Proceed for Online Claim and fill Form 31
- Upload your account details along with soft copy of check or bank passbook
- – Now click on Get Aadhaar OTP and submit the form.
- More than 27 crore members have PF accounts on EPFO. Currently 27.74 crore accounts are running in EPFO.
