Actress made shocking revelation against director Now Malayalam actress Soumya has revealed in an interview about the sexual and mental abuse she faced in her childhood. Soumya told that when she was 18 years old, a director offered her to work in his film. That director and his wife forced Soumya's parents to work in films. The director used to call her his daughter, but when she was alone, he used to treat her inhumanly, from which it took Soumya 30 years to recover.
In the interview, Soumya said, “I was 18 years old and in the first year of college. My parents knew nothing about films. I got this opportunity (to act in a Tamil film) through a college theatre contact.” Soumya told that the director and his wife came to pick her up. Soumya was not comfortable with that person from the first day itself. She said that with time she realized that the director was making her his 'sex slave', while he was also calling her 'his daughter'.
The director was accused by his own daughter. Soumya said, the director himself had a daughter, who accused him of rape and left the house. The director said that his daughter was lying. Soumya told that one day when the director's wife was not at home, he called her 'daughter' and kissed her, which shocked her. She was ashamed of her condition and was unable to tell.
Soumya said, “I wanted to tell all this to my friends but couldn't. I felt I was wrong and I should behave well with him.” Soumya said that she continued to practice and rehearse the dance, but the director used her entire body for his benefit. There came a time when he raped her, which continued for a year. Soumya also told that the director inserted a rod in her private part and said that he was doing this for 'entertainment'. He repeatedly called her 'daughter' and said that he wanted to have a child with her.
Soumya gave 3 hit films in the 90s. A film actor also sexually abused her. Soumya said that the actor's name also appeared in the Hema Committee report. She said, “The director, actors and technicians abused me and violated my rights. One person even hired a contract killer to kill me.” She said that it took her 30 years to endure all this and urged all victims to register their complaints. Soumya did not reveal the name of the director for the interview. She said that she will soon reveal the identity of that person to the special police team formed by the Kerala government.
