Kanpur, May 27 (HS). Consuming curd in summers provides relief from many problems in the body, so curd should be consumed. Eating curd strengthens the digestive system. Consuming curd daily does not cause stomach problems and the body gets plenty of nutrients. This information was given by Dr. Nimisha Awasthi, Home Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dalip Nagar of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur on Monday.

Consuming curd in summers helps in getting rid of many problems in the body. Consumption of curd in summers is a must. Eating curd strengthens the digestive system. Consuming curd daily does not cause stomach problems and the body gets plenty of nutrients. People who do not drink milk should definitely eat curd.

Know which vitamins are obtained from curd

Dr. Awasthi told that curd contains nutrients like calcium, vitamin B-12, vitamin B-2, magnesium and potassium. If curd and sugar are eaten together, it has many benefits. Eating curd and sugar in summer keeps the stomach healthy. Eating curd and sugar provides the body with a good amount of glucose, which gives instant energy. Curd is also easy to digest. Curd is digested faster than milk. Curd or its products are digested quickly in breakfast, curd also keeps your stomach light. People who have digestive problems should consume curd or buttermilk in the morning. Eating curd and sugar in the morning keeps the stomach cool. It also reduces heartburn and acidity. Curd with sugar reduces pitta dosha and keeps you energetic throughout the day. Eating curd and sugar after meals also benefits the body.

Dr. Awasthi told that curd contains good bacteria which are beneficial for the stomach. It strengthens the digestive system. These bacteria are also beneficial for the intestines. For weight control, it is often recommended to eat low-fat curd because low-fat curd not only keeps the intestines healthy but also helps in weight control by strengthening the digestive system.
