Dutch PM contender Geert Wilders wants to meet India's Nupur Sharma

Right-wing leader Geert Wilders, who is leading the race for the post of Prime Minister in the Netherlands, has written a personal message to former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. In which he described Nupur Sharma as brave and expressed his desire to meet her. Wilders wrote on his official X account, 'I have sent a personal message to support the brave Nupur Sharma. For years he has been receiving threats from extremists for speaking the truth. Supporters of freedom around the world should support Nupur. I hope to meet him one day during my visit to India.

Geert Wilders said that we are a consensus-building country. There are neither many right wing people in our country nor there will be. The number of migrants is increasing. Due to which the citizens of the country are being neglected.

Who is Nupur Sharma?

Nupur Sharma was the spokesperson of BJP. In 2022, he gave a controversial statement in a TV debate. Due to which there was anger among the minority community. Protests took place across the country. After this BJP expelled him from the party. Earlier in 2015, BJP had fielded him against Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly elections. He has been the President of Delhi University Students Union. She was the only ABVP candidate to win in the 2008 student union elections. In 2010, he entered active politics from BJP Yuva Marcha.
