The total occupancy of the film in theaters on the first day was 16.84%. With this, it has become Kartik's third consecutive film to do business of less than Rs 10 crore on the first day. Earlier, last year's 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' had an opening of 9.25 crores and 'Shehzada' had an opening of 6 crores. Sports-drama 'Chandu Champion' is the biopic of the country's first Paralympic gold medalist Muralikant Petkar. It is directed by Kabir Khan. This is Kartik's lowest opening film in the last 7 years.
