Dr. Abhinav Tandon

Prayagraj, June 27 (HS). Drug addiction is especially dangerous among teenagers and youth. Nowadays children are consuming drugs at a young age, which is a matter of great concern. Drugs have a direct impact on our brain.

These things were said by Dr. Abhinav Tandon, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Motilal Nehru Medical College, in a seminar organized by the All India Women's Conference in a coaching institute in Colonelganj to make students aware about de-addiction. He said that people take drugs to overcome their sorrow or to get happiness. However, due to this, the amount of drugs taken gradually increases and their mind gets frustrated. Mania, depression, anxiety and negative thoughts do not allow a person to live a normal life.

Standing Committee Member Dr. Shanti Chaudhary said that drug addiction affects physical and mental health. Once one gets addicted to drugs, it is very difficult to leave it. She warned the students about the ill-effects of drug addiction by giving examples of some people around them. Dr. Shanti Chaudhary said that to avoid this, one should follow a regular disciplined routine, exercise, yoga and meditation and one should definitely have some hobby.

Clinical Psychotherapist Malavika Rao said that children should be counselled from time to time. Children become frustrated due to excessive competition, unemployment and other social inequalities. If they are not given attention in time, these children may get attracted towards drugs. During this time, many students shared their problems. The experts solved their queries and problems very intelligently.

Before this, AIWC President Rachna Agarwal welcomed everyone and presented bouquets to the experts. At the end of the program, senior member Sushma Rathi presented mementoes to Dr. Abhinav Tandon and Malvika Rao and Secretary Jyoti Srivastava expressed her gratitude.
