Gwalior, July 10 (HS). Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri participated in the mass tree plantation programs organized by the Municipal Corporation on Wednesday under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. He started the tree plantation program by planting a Sheesham sapling in Ramdas Ghati Park. He planted an Ashoka sapling in Gandhi Park. The Divisional Commissioner said on this occasion that as per the wish of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, all people should come together and plant as many saplings as possible. Also, efforts should be such that all the planted saplings remain alive and take the shape of trees. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harsh Singh planted a Kachnar sapling on this occasion.
Divisional Commissioner Khatri said that when the saplings planted will grow into trees, they will definitely prove useful for the environment. He praised the Municipal Corporation team for planting trees on a large scale. He also said that this effort of tree plantation with everyone's participation will prove useful for the environment of the city. He hoped that the Municipal Corporation team will work with the same enthusiasm and zeal to follow other policies of the government.
About 500 plants of different species were planted in the program organized on Wednesday in Ramdas Ghati Park. These include species like Champa, Jamun, Amla, Arjun, Sheesham, Kachnar and Ashok etc. Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Vijay Raj and Munish Sikarwar along with other concerned officials were present in the tree plantation program organized in the presence of Divisional Commissioner Khatri.
