Meerut, 16 May (HS). A prisoner admitted in Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, Meerut died late on Wednesday night. The jail administration has sent the report of the prisoner's death to the government.
Raisuddin son of Mangat, resident of Purva Ilahi Baksh of Brahmapuri police station area, was arrested by the police in a case related to culpable homicide and sent to jail. After the hearing of the case began, on December 4, 2018, the court sentenced Raisuddin to seven years' imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. Since then Raisuddin was serving his sentence in the district jail.
According to District Jail Jail Superintendent Shashikant Mishra, Raisuddin was suffering from TB and was undergoing treatment. On May 11, his condition suddenly deteriorated. The jail hospital referred Raisuddin to the medical hospital. Where he was undergoing treatment. His condition deteriorated at midnight on Wednesday and he died. After this the police sent his body for post-mortem. The complete report of this matter has been sent to the government.
