Cyclonic storm may hit the coast next week
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of a cyclonic storm in the North Indian Ocean next week. The Meteorological Department has predicted increased cyclonic activity in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea around October 23 and 24. A cyclone is likely to form near the North Andaman Sea around October 20, which may intensify once it hits the Odisha coast. In such a situation, incidents like heavy rains and landslides may occur in Odisha, West Bengal or Bangladesh on 23 or 24 October.

Due to the impact of this cyclonic storm, a cyclone will form around October 22 due to low pressure in the central Bay of Bengal. In such a situation, fishing, shipping and naval activities have not been advised in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. Tourists should avoid visiting Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Local people have been advised to remain alert and prepared for any possible emergency.
