As per the forecast of the Meteorological Department, it is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm on May 11 and become a very severe cyclone by the morning of May 12. Thereafter, it is very likely to recurve north-northeastwards and hit southeast Bangladesh and north Myanmar coast by May 14 afternoon.
There is a possibility of strong wind and rain in these areas
Under its influence, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. The sea condition will be very rough over Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. The wave height will be very high, with wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph and at times 70 kmph.
Apart from this, light to moderate rains may occur over Karnataka, Kerala, South Madhya Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh. Light rain may occur at one or two places over Assam, Sikkim parts of Tamil Nadu and Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
