Mumbai: Controversy has intensified over the selection of 'Lapatta Ladies' over 'All We Imagine as a Light', which was considered the strongest contender for India's official entry at the Oscars. Now a new controversy has arisen because the Film Federation of India, which decides the entries from India, has described 'All We Imagine as a Light' as a European film made in Indian setup.

Federation president Ravi Kottarakara said the jury did not find 'All We Imagine as Light' to be a European film based on an Indian backdrop. In comparison, 'Lapatta Ladies' is a completely Indian film. Therefore, it has been decided to send 'Lapatta Ladies' as India's entry to the Oscars.

However, film fans are angry against this statement. According to him, when 'All We Imagine as Light' won the Grand Prix honor at the Cannes Film Festival, the entire country called it a Potiki film. Now how can this become a European film overnight?

Fans say that the making of a film is more important than the background or story in the Oscars. There is no doubt that 'Lapatta Ladies' is a great film but 'All We Imagine as Light' is much better in terms of filmmaking. It won honors at the Cannes Film Festival, which means it has reached a global audience.
