Controversy arose over script theft on Ajay Devgan's Maidan release

Mumbai: Ajay Devgan's 'Maidan' has been stuck in script theft controversy since its release. A lower court in Karnataka stayed the release of the film after a writer filed a case in the court claiming that the script of the film was originally his own. However, the filmmakers appealed to the High Court and the High Court lifted the stay.

The film is based on the life story of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. According to a writer named Anil Kumar, he mentioned the script on a professional blogging platform and shared it on the poster. He also registered himself with the Film Script Writers Association. Then the film's assistant director Sukhdas Suryavanshi came to him from the front. He asked me for the script. It was decided to meet Aamir Khan with this script but nothing could be decided.

However, recently when the promotion of the film 'Maidan' started, he realized that the film had become a film based on the script written by him.

The producers fled when the Mysore district court stayed the release. The film team said that the court has given a unilateral order and they are going to appeal against it in the High Court.

According to the Trade Board, the release became possible later after the High Court lifted the stay. However, the case may still be heard in a lower court.
