Lucknow, 26 September (HS). Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai said in a statement that by-elections are to be held on ten seats in the state. For this, as the Congress state president, he asked for five seats in the SP-Congress alliance, considering his strength.
Ajay Rai said that under the alliance, SP and Congress will fight the by-elections together. In this, the Congress core committee took a decision and selected five seats on which BJP MLAs have been in power. Congress wants to contest elections on these five seats in future. In the remaining places where Samajwadi Party has been dominant, Congress workers will join hands with their candidate.
