Madhabi Puri Buch holds 99% stake in Agora Pvt. Ltd.: One after another allegations are being leveled against Madhabi Puri Buch. The opposition has again surrounded Madhabi Puri against the latest allegations. Congress has opposed the claim of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chief Madhabi Puri Buch that the advisory service provider Agora Private Limited owned by her has been inactive since taking charge at SEBI.
In fresh allegations, the Congress on September 10 said the market regulator's top boss and her husband Dhaval Buch are still earning from the consultancy firm. Pawan Khera, head of the Congress party's media and publicity department, said, “The Hindenburg report has revealed the name of a company called Agora Advisory Private Limited, which was registered on May 7, 2013. This company belongs to Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband, but after the Hindenburg report, Madhabiji denied it saying the company is inactive since it approached SEBI, but Madhabiji still owns a 99% stake in the company.
Earlier, Pawan Khede had alleged that Madhabi Puri Buch is taking salary from three companies despite being the chairman of SEBI. He is receiving regular salary and ESOP benefits from ICICI Bank.
