News India Live, Digital Desk: If you too used to wrap your little ones in heavy sweaters and jackets and wait for the school bus as soon as the alarm rings in the morning, then this news is very reassuring for you. In entire Jharkhand including Ranchi, the westerly winds have increased the chill to such an extent that hands and legs have started becoming numb. Keeping in view the safety of children and the dangers of increasing infection, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ranchi has issued strict and new instructions regarding the operation of schools.
What is the new order of the administration?
The simple and clear thing is that now small children will not have to face the icy winds at 6 or 7 in the morning. Ranchi district administration has made a major change in the timing of primary and middle schools in view of the increasing cold and dense fog. According to the order, now schools will open late so that when there is some sunlight, children can come out of the house.
This order has been implemented equally for all boards (CBSE, ICSE and government schools). Its main objective is to protect children from seasonal diseases like pneumonia, cold and cough.
Concern of parents was increasing
In the last two-three days, the mercury has suddenly dropped significantly in Jharkhand. On social media and in school meetings, parents were continuously demanding that as long as the cold wave is in effect, either schools should be kept closed for a few days or their timings should be changed. The DC of Ranchi immediately took cognizance of this legitimate concern of the parents and approved the new time-table.
Not only Ranchi, there is stir in other districts also
The effect of icy winds of the mountains is visible not only in Ranchi, but also in Lohardaga, Gumla, Hazaribagh and Jamshedpur. In these districts also the local administration is taking reports at their respective levels. It is believed that if the temperature falls further in the next one or two days, then closure of schools can also be announced. For now, relief has been given to children only by changing the timings.
What does the weather department say?
According to the Meteorological Department, the severe cold is not going to go away immediately. The shadow of fog and chill in the morning and night will continue for the next few days. In such a situation, doctors have also advised to take special care of children and the elderly and increase the intake of hot water.
So parents, before preparing the bags of your daughter and darling, keep an eye on your school’s WhatsApp group and news so that you take the children out of the house as per the new timings. Nothing is more important than safety and health!
