On Friday morning, Delhi was seen wrapped in a thick blanket of fog. The drop in temperature and shivering cold increased the problems of the people. People are trying to get relief from the cold by taking the help of bonfire and warm clothes. Office goers were seen enjoying tea and coffee at the intersections.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted partly cloudy sky with mist and moderate fog over most areas for Friday. Dense fog may also occur in some areas in the morning.

There is a possibility of rain in Delhi on January 6. IMD has issued orange alert for Friday. The maximum temperature of the day is likely to be 16 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 8 degrees Celsius.
Severe cold continues on Thursday
Delhi remained in the grip of severe cold for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius, which is 3.1 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 7.6 degrees Celsius. IMD described it as “severe cold conditions”.
Visibility was very low
Due to fog, visibility in Delhi reduced drastically to less than 50 meters. Visibility reached zero in Ayanagar, while it was 200 meters at the weather station located in Safdarjung. Palam weather center reported zero visibility at 6 am.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) stood at 318, which falls in the “very poor” category.
