Chandrababu key conspirator in Andhra skills development scam: CID

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief N Sanjay has described Chandrababu Naidu as the main conspirator in the skill development scam. He said that Naidu had made a complete plan for this corruption during his tenure as Chief Minister.

It is alleged that a company named Siemens was given Rs 371 crore as nomination by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Sanjay said that this is a scam of government funds worth Rs 371 crore. This money was given by the Andhra Pradesh government as nomination to a company named Siemens. In this way, money was leaving the government’s hands only on the basis of nomination. Out of Rs 371 crore, Rs 241 crore was going to other private companies. This has also come to light in the ED investigation.

N Sanjay gave detailed information about Andhra Pradesh skill development scam. He said that the entire scam happened due to the launch of 90 to 10 formula. Siemens has claimed that it has nothing to do with all this because the company is headquartered in Germany. Actually, money was given to many people who were involved in training related work.

Vijayawada local court has adjourned the hearing on Naidu’s two bail petitions till September 19. Naidu has applied for bail along with interim bail and also for regular bail.

Naidu has been sent to 14-day judicial custody on charges of misuse of Skill Development Corporation funds. Special public prosecutor YN Vivekananda, representing the CID, said the court heard the case in detail and the matter will be heard further on September 19. Counter affidavit will be filed on that day. The Andhra Pradesh government has suffered a loss of more than Rs 300 crore due to this scam.
