Canada Advisory: Amid the ongoing controversy over the murder of Khalistani supporter Hardeep Singh Nijhar, Canada issued an advisory for citizens on Tuesday (September 19). In this, Canada has asked its citizens not to go to Jammu and Kashmir.
Canada has cited security as the reason behind this. “Do not visit Jammu and Kashmir as there is a threat of terrorism, extremism, civil unrest and kidnapping there,” the advisory said.
After this statement of Trudeau, tension between the two countries has increased.
It is noteworthy that tension has increased between India and Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has given a big statement regarding Khalistani Nijhar. He said that the country’s security agencies are investigating the relationship between the Indian government and the murder of Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijhar.
Addressing the House of Commons in Ottawa, Trudeau said Canadian security agencies are actively investigating allegations of a possible connection between the Indian government and the killing of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijhar. Trudeau said that the involvement of any other country or foreign government in the murder of a Canadian citizen on his soil will not be tolerated. This is a violation of our sovereignty, which is completely unacceptable.
He said Canadian citizens of Indian origin are angry and perhaps even scared. So don’t force us to change. Let us tell you that on June 18, Hardeep Singh Nijhar, who lives in Canada, was shot dead outside Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Surrey, British Columbia. Nizhar was associated with the separatist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ), which is banned in India. He was the President of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Surrey.
