After hitting an all-time high of 85,163.2 points for the fourth consecutive day, the Sensex fell 15 points to close flat at 84,914.04.

At the same time, Nifty reached the level of 26,000 points and closed at 25,950. Sensex was down 0.02 percent and Nifty was up 0.02 percent. Indian stock market reached an all-time high due to positive trend in the global market. Metal and energy stocks were in vogue in the market on Tuesday. Nifty Metal was on top with a gain of three percent. After metal and energy, auto, information technology (IT), pharma, infrastructure sector stocks were at the top among sectoral indices. While PSU bank and FMCG stocks witnessed contraction. Apart from this, shares of financial services, realty and private banks also declined. Selling was seen in baking sector stocks. Broader indices showed mixed trend. The reason for which was the rise in large cap and mid cap.

DII was a net buyer on Tuesday with a net worth of Rs 3,868.31 crore while FIIA was a net seller with a net worth of Rs 2,784.14 crore. Nifty took 38 sessions to touch 26,000 from 25,000. 296 stocks hit a fifty-two week high.
