Meerut, 30 August (HS). Bullion traders of Meerut have opened a front against Bengali artisans who are running away with gold every day. On Friday, Meerut's bullion traders met the SSP and demanded strict action against the artisans. They also accused the police of grabbing gold and cash.
Under the banner of City Sarafa Vyapar Sangh, the traders demonstrated at the SSP office on Friday. They submitted a memorandum to SSP Dr. Vipin Tada and accused Bengali artisans of running away with gold worth 20 crores. They said that the bullion traders of Meerut give gold to the artisans from Bengal for work. Everyday the artisans run away with this gold and the bullion traders are suffering huge losses. On May 5, an artisan plotted a robbery and snatched two kg gold from the bullion trader. Even after the complaint, the police station has not been able to recover the entire gold till now.
In protest against this, he closed the bullion market on Friday and came to lodge a complaint. A police inspector also snatched the gold and cash of the businessman. General Secretary of the City Bullion Traders Association, Vijay Anand Agarwal said that after arresting the fraudsters, action should also be taken against the accused policemen. If this does not happen, the bullion traders will be forced to launch an agitation. The SSP assured to take action in this matter after investigation. On this occasion, Jeetu Nagpal, Shanky Verma, Zeeshan Qureshi, Sanjay, Aman Verma, etc were present.
