Badaun: In Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, the court has sentenced the husband who cut open his wife's stomach to see whether the child is a son or a daughter. The court has sentenced the husband who killed his wife by cutting open her stomach after three years. Along with this, a fine of Rs. 50,000 has also been imposed.
The wife is happy with this decision of the court. Pannalal, a resident of Civil Lines in Badaun district, cut open the stomach of his wife Anita because he wanted to see whether the baby growing in Anita's womb was a boy or a girl. This incident happened on 19 September 2020. Anita was at home at that time. Meanwhile, her husband Pannalal reached home drunk and started beating her.
Anita said that Pannalal started quarreling with her saying that she has given birth to five daughters so far. Now she wants to see the baby growing in the womb, whether it is a son or a daughter, by ripping open her stomach. Anita and her daughters opposed this. But Pannalal did not agree and he cut open his stomach. After this, the eight-month-old baby growing in Anita's womb came out.
The family took Anita to the hospital. The doctors saved Anita's life. But the child born to Anita died. Her treatment lasted for eight months. The police registered a case against Pannalal under sections 307 and 313 and arrested him and sent him to jail. He came out on bail in March and started beating his wife and daughters. But Anita did not compromise with him. He did not even move. Finally the court gave them justice and sentenced Pannalal to life imprisonment.
