The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start from 19 February. This time Pakistan is hosting the Champions Trophy in the hands of Pakistan. The first match of the tournament will be played between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand. Now the entire schedule of the opening ceremony of this tournament has also been declared. Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif will attend the inauguration ceremony.
The opening ceremony will be held on 3 different days
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set a complete schedule for the inauguration ceremony of the Champions Trophy. The inauguration ceremony will take place on 7 February at the Gaddafi Stadium, with Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif will be the chief guest.
This will be followed by the inauguration ceremony at the National Stadium in Karachi on 11 February, which will include President Asif Zardari. The inauguration ceremony will take place on 16 February in Lahore, which will include former cricketers and ICC officials. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has also met PM Shahbaz Sharif for the inauguration ceremony.
Stadium is not ready in Pakistan
The Champions Trophy has been less than 3 weeks to start, but the stadiums in Pakistan have not yet been fully built. After which the big question remains whether this tournament can be held in Pakistan. According to a media report, it is being claimed that it is impossible for PCB to complete the work on time.
Rohit Sharma’s attendance ceremony has not been confirmed
Before the start of the tournament, the captains of all the team do a photoshoot and press conference, which is held in the host country. But it is not believed whether Team India captain Rohit Sharma will go to Pakistan or not. Nothing has been cleared by the BCCI about Rohit’s departure.
