School Timings Change: Bihar Education Department has changed the timings of government schools in view of the winter season. On November 21, Bihar’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) S Siddharth issued a notice saying that now government schools will operate from 9:30 am to 4 pm. Earlier the school timings were from 8:50 am to 4:30 pm. Under the new order, there will now be eight periods in schools. The first bell will ring at 10 am and the last bell will ring at 4 pm. Apart from this, there will be lunch break from 12 to 12:40 pm.

Classes will start at 10 am

According to the new timing, clothes, nails and hair of students will be checked from 9:30 am to 10 am and activities like general knowledge session, news reading and discussion will also take place during this time. This change has been taken keeping in mind the increasing cold, so that the health and safety of the students and staff is maintained. If board examinations of any class are being held in the school, other classes will not be postponed. In such a situation, students will be advised to go to other classes to continue their studies.

Bagless Saturday in schools

According to media reports, priority will be given to extra-curricular and creative activities in schools on Saturday. “Bagless Saturday” will be introduced for children from classes 1 to 8, that is, on this day children will be free from homework and their focus will be on activities like art, music, sports and dance. Along with this, in the afternoon students will participate in activities like Children’s Parliament and showcase their projects and artistic creations.

Special attention will be given to children’s education

The seating arrangement of students in the school will be made in such a way that weaker students will be made to sit in the front seats, so that teachers can pay more attention to them. The principal is given the responsibility of ensuring that the school’s daily routine is running properly and that homework is given and checked regularly by teachers. Along with this, the Principal will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the school and carrying out regular inspections so that the school facilities, such as kitchens and toilets, remain clean and hygienic.
