Bihar Sharif, August 3 (HS). Under the Jal Jeevan Hariyali Abhiyan, plantation of saplings has started in various panchayats including Nehusa under the MNREGA scheme. Regarding the scheme, MNREGA JE Pradeep Kumar said that this year the target is to plant 22 hundred saplings in Nehusa Panchayat. He said that two hundred saplings are to be planted in one unit. In a period of five years, money is spent on each unit for planting saplings, adding fertilizers to them, irrigating the saplings and paying wages.
He said that the forest nurturers who keep the plants alive on government or private land will get 1960 rupees per month. On private land, there will be one forest nurturer for every 200 plants, while on government land, there will be two forest nurturers to take care of every 200 plants. But 80 percent of the trees should be alive. Meanwhile, PRS Priyanka Kumari of Nehusa Panchayat said that so far 400 plants have been planted on government land and 400 plants on private land. She said that the number of plants planted is equal to the number of forest nurturers. She also said that out of the plants planted last year, 90 percent of the plants are alive.
