Jaunpur, 03 August (HS). On Saturday, on the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas, under Machhlishahr Tehsil, the officials of BKU staged a dharna for two hours in the tehsil premises. After the dharna, a five-point memorandum addressed to the District Magistrate was handed over to the Deputy Tehsildar Santosh Kumar.
In the memorandum addressed to the District Magistrate, demands were made for uninterrupted 24-hour power supply, releasing water in the canal at full capacity to deliver water to the tail end in view of paddy transplantation, evacuating the Mungra Badshahpur Mandi premises and the farmer's shed built in the tehsil and handing it over to the farmers, and immediately removing illegal encroachment on Bhita, pasture, pond and lake. After the protest, Naib Tehsildar Santosh Kumar reached the spot and received the memorandum and assured to take action. Ramesh Chandra Maurya, Ramsurat Patel, Chandrabali, Lal Bahadur were present in the program. It was chaired by Tehsil President Rajdev Gautam and conducted by Dharmaraj Patel.
