New Delhi, August 1 (HS). Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials said that they have requested the government to provide them security advisors during the upcoming tour of Pakistan.
Bangladesh, who will travel to Pakistan on August 17, will play a two-match Test series against the hosts, in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30-September 3), which is part of the ICC Test Championship.
Travelling to Pakistan has always been a matter of concern for international teams due to the political situation in Pakistan.
“Look, it is their (Pakistan's) job to provide security and we went there because they assured us of providing state-level security and when they assured us about that, the tour was finalised,” BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters on Wednesday, according to Cricbuzz.
He said, “I think you must have seen in the Asia Cup that the Bangladesh team went to Pakistan and they provided us state level security and we agreed to go on this tour because they assured us of this.”
He said, “You must have seen in recent times that some international teams also [पाकिस्तान] They have come and they are very happy with the security provided there. We are also very concerned about security, but after knowing everything and getting assurance from them about security, we have decided to visit. Jalal said that no player has any objection to the upcoming tour of Pakistan.
Ahead of the two-match Test series against Pakistan, the Bangladesh A team will travel to Islamabad for two four-day matches and three 50-over matches.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque along with several other Test cricketers were included for the opening four-day match as the tourists consider it part of their preparation for the Test series as they are not scheduled to play any practice matches before the Tests after arriving there on August 17.
