Barabanki SP took major action against drug smugglers

Barabanki, June 24 (HS). On the instructions of SP Dinesh Singh, police of 22 police stations have taken action against 728 smugglers in 603 cases against drug smugglers in the year 2023-24. Drugs worth Rs 134 crore were recovered from them. Which includes opium 9.993 kg, morphine 73.137 kg, smack 58.524 kg, ganja 100.735 kg poppy husk 1954.933 kg. Gangster Act action was taken against 93 smugglers in 27 cases of NDPS Act. Their property worth crores of rupees was confiscated. In which the maximum number of smugglers are from Tikra Murtaza and Tikra Usma of Zaidpur police station area.

The properties seized include Ajjan alias Misbahur Rahman son of Mohd. Kaleem resident of Tikra Murtaza police station Zaidpur, property worth about Rs 2 crore 81 lakh, Meraj son of Jabir resident of Tikra Usmana police station Zaidpur, property worth about Rs 3 crore 1 lakh 33 thousand, Aqeel alias Bhura son of Mohd. Naseem resident of Tikra Usmana police station Zaidpur, property worth about Rs 6 crore 24 lakh, Mohd. Aleem alias Sadhu son of Mohd. Umar resident of Tikra Murtaza police station Zaidpur, property worth about Rs 3 crore 30 lakh, Munawwar son of Yasin resident of Rajakatra police station Zaidpur, property worth about Rs 16 crore 12 lakh 99 thousand and Jasim son of Jalees resident of Mohalla Hatiya town Sidhour police station Asandra, property worth about Rs 11 crore 1 lakh 18 thousand, along with 21 smugglers, under Section 14 (1) of the Gangster Act, movable and immovable properties worth about Rs 78 crore 28 lakh 57 thousand have been seized. In which one inter-state gang and three district level gangs were also registered. Besides this, Goonda Act action has been taken against 10 smugglers. While history sheet of 30 smugglers was opened including smuggler Mohammad Aleem alias Sadhu son of Mohammad Umar resident of Tikra Murtaza police station Zaidpur, Mohammad Kaleem son of Sarif resident of Qureshi ward town and police station Haidergarh, Shadab son of Haji Tasavvar resident of Tikra Usmana police station Zaidpur, Nadeem son of Faheem Raja alias Haji Mohammad Faheem resident of Tikra Usmana police station Zaidpur, Anwar son of Mukhtar resident of Tikra Usmana police station Zaidpur. SP Dinesh Kumar said that in the cases registered against the said smugglers, till now the court has proved the charges against 80 smugglers and has also sentenced them.
