According to the holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks in various states will remain closed for a total of 14 days in April. These closures include public holidays, regional holidays and regular closures on second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. In case of state-specific festivals, banks will remain closed only in those states, while during national festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr, Ram Navami and Baisakhi, banks will remain closed across the country.
The list of holidays is prepared by RBI for every month. It has been notified under three categories, namely Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays, real time gross settlement holidays and closure of accounts of banks.
