Bank Holidays May 2024: Only a few days are left in the month of May. According to the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will be closed for 12 days in May 2024. This includes all Sundays except the second and fourth Saturdays. Apart from this, banks will remain closed in some states due to Lok Sabha elections. There are many festivals in May like Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary, Nazrul Jayanti, Akshaya Tritiya, due to which banks will not function. Banks will not remain closed simultaneously in all states. Internet banking services will remain available during holidays.

may 1st: Maharashtra Day/May Day (Labor Day).

Banks will remain closed in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram due to Maharashtra Day/May Day holiday.

5 May: sunday

Due to 5th May being Sunday, all banks will remain closed.

8 May: Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary (Rabindra Jayanti)

All banks of Kolkata will remain closed on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti on 8th May.

10 May: Basava Jayanti/Akshay Tritiya

There will be a holiday in all the banks of Bengaluru on 10th May on the occasion of Basava Jayanti/Akshay Tritiya.
