News India Live, Digital Desk: What a thing politics is, it changes even good history. today we victory Day Celebrating (16th December), the day when India and Bangladesh together forced the Pakistani Army to surrender. But just think, what are some of the leaders of Bangladesh, for which thousands of our soldiers shed blood, saying today?
opposition party of bangladesh BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) A senior leader of Bangladesh has given such a statement, on hearing which any Indian (and true Bangladeshi) will bow his head in shame and anger. He has claimed that the ‘Massacre of Intellectuals’ that took place on 14 December 1971 was not done by Pakistan, but by Pakistan. India was did.
white lies and pakistan love
Calling it a “white lie” would be an understatement. The whole world knows, it is recorded in the history books, and the old people of Bangladesh themselves are witness to how seeing the defeat certain, the Pakistani Army and their partner ‘Al-Badr’ had thrown out the doctors, professors and writers of Bangladesh from their homes and killed them on the night of 14th December. The aim was to mentally cripple the newly formed country.
But today, in 2025, standing in Dhaka, these leaders are saying that this act was a conspiracy of the Indian Army. it is called “To betray the one who is helping you.”
Why anti-India wave?
This statement is not just a slip of the tongue of a leader, it is a well-thought-out strategy. There is a section in Bangladesh which still has a ‘soft corner’ for Pakistan in its heart. To shine their politics and please the fundamentalist votes, these people are playing the “Anti-India Card”.
They have forgotten that if the Indian Army had not stood as “Mitra Vahini” in 1971, perhaps today they would have been speaking Urdu and not Bengali.
history is witness
You and I know the truth. At that time the whole world had seen the discipline and humane face of the Indian Army. Getting 93,000 Pakistani soldiers to surrender with honour, and then keeping them safe – only the Indian Army could have done this. In such a situation, making allegations of massacre is not only ridiculous but also an insult to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the liberation struggle.
We need to be alert. We have to respond to the fire of hatred that is being fueled in the neighborhood with facts and unity. No matter how much someone tries to erase history, truth always prevails.
