Violent mobs targeted the minority Hindu population in the days of continuous violence and chaos following the fall of the government of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. To say the least, their shops, commercial centers, temples were looted and set on fire. Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh on 5 August and took refuge in India in an army helicopter. After this, an interim government was formed in Bangladesh and Mohammad Yunus took power. Yunus took over as the chief advisor of the interim government on 8 August.
Hindu organizations have hope from the interim government!
The BNHGA organization has been raising its demand before various political forces for the last 24 years. But it is not over yet. So now it is hoped that the new interim government formed after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government can fulfill this demand. The BNHGA president said, expressed grief over the repeated violence against the Hindu community and whenever the government changes, Hindus are attacked first. A demand from the new government of Bangladesh
BNHG has demanded from the government a judicial inquiry into the recent attacks on Hindu communities, the formation of a minority protection and commission and renovation of temples and houses at public expense. According to the information received, the organization has demanded immediate trial and investigation report against the culprits, a report on the atrocities and abuse of minors since the year 2000 till date. Apart from this, a three-day holiday during Durga Puja and the establishment of the Ministry of Ladhumati have been demanded.
