Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced a helpline number for the protection of Hindus facing persecution in Bangladesh. Attacks, arson and other inhuman atrocities on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh are a matter of concern for the VHP.
The situation in Bangladesh is not normal. Hindus living there are worried about their lives. Violent protesters are targeting Hindu homes and temples. In such a situation, Hindus there are struggling to come to India. In view of the violent atmosphere, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has issued a helpline number. According to VHP, it has demanded security, compensation to the oppressed minorities in Bangladesh and immediate strict action against the extremists.
Persecution of minorities in Bangladesh
Minorities in Bangladesh are going through a very challenging phase. Minorities are being targeted there. The atmosphere is such that minorities, especially Hindus, have been brutally killed, tortured and their places of worship, business establishments and houses have been vandalized. Vishwa Hindu Parishad Maharashtra Goa Minister Govind Shende said that the whole country is aware of what is going on in Bangladesh. What is the atrocity like? It has been seen for some days that the Hindus of Bangladesh have woken up. They are also taking to the streets. We have issued a helpline number for the safety of Hindus living in Bangladesh.
One helpline number to reach every Bangladeshi: VHP
He further said that this helpline number will bring the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh to the notice of the Government of India. The Central Government of India will be contacted for their assistance. If any relative of Hindus living in India is living in Bangladesh, they can also call on this number and seek help. It is also the responsibility of the relatives of Hindus living in Bangladesh to somehow send this number to Bangladesh. Our effort is to make this number reach every Hindu.
VHP officials met the Home Minister
Shende said that the officials of Vishwa Hindu Parishad have met Home Minister Amit Shah and raised this issue before him. Hindus there should be protected, temples there should be protected, attacks on minorities should be stopped. Compensation should be given to all those who have suffered loss or lost their lives or have been looted.
