Bakery shop caught fire due to short circuit in Meerut, loss of lakhs

Meerut, 29 July (HS). A bakery shop located in a tower in Pallavpuram police station area caught fire due to short circuit on Monday. Due to the fire, smoke spread far and wide. Due to Kanwar Yatra going on on this route, police and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire.

On Monday, smoke suddenly started rising from a bakery shop in Shiv Complex located on NH-58 in Pallavapuram. When smoke started spreading from far and wide, the police station and two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot in a hurry. The fire brigade started trying to extinguish the fire. Due to the Kanwar Yatra passing through NH-58, the officials immediately became alert. CO Daurala Suchita Singh also reached the spot. The fire also engulfed other shops of the complex through the bakery shop. The police removed the people gathered at the spot by using mild force. By the time the fire brigade controlled the fire, many shops were burnt due to the fire. There was no loss of life due to Monday being a weekly holiday. According to SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, a short circuit occurred due to overload in a bakery shop, due to which the fire broke out. The fire also spread to other nearby shops. The fire brigade has controlled the fire.
