Baghdada Nature Park of Udaipur will be developed from tourism point of view

Udaipur, 23 February (HS). Baghdada Nature Park, the only crocodile park in Udaipur district, will be developed as a new destination for tourists. This decision was taken in the joint meeting of the CSR Committee and Eco Tourism Committee of the Sewerage Treatment Plant held under the chairmanship of District Collector Arvind Poswal in the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday.

To make the city sewerage water reusable, sewerage treatment plants are being operated through Hindustan Zinc Limited. According to the MoU signed with Zinc, an expenditure of Rs 1 crore is to be spent every year on the development of the city under Corporate Social Responsibility. The District Collector said that this amount should be spent on activities to promote tourists instead of physical development. He suggested to convert Baghdada Nature Park, famous as a shelter for crocodiles, into a wildlife tourist spot and to develop tourism in Ubhayeshwar.

A plan for the development of Baghdara was presented by the Forest Department, under which zip line, boundary wall, bamboo plantation, chital enclosure, development of a mount for crocodile in the pond, play park for children, watch tower, talai construction, cafeteria for tourists and Other facilities like functions were included. The District Collector divided these works into two phases and gave instructions to start the work in the month of March. He said that crocodile is already present in the nature park. The movement of panther will also increase with the construction of Chital enclosure. This will give new dimensions to wildlife tourism. In the meeting, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ramprakash, Deputy Forest Conservator D.K.Tiwari, Ajay Chittaura, Probationary IFS Kumar Shubham, Municipal Corporation's Additional Chief Engineer Mukesh Pujari, Smart City XEN Dinesh Pancholi, Hindustan Zinc's Corporate Affairs Vice President Vijay Raman, Debari were present. Assistant General Manager of the plant Ram Sharma and other officers were present.

The District Collector gave instructions to develop flower beds on the dividers of selected main roads of the city. Making a budget provision of Rs 50 lakh for this, he said that different types of seasonal flowers should be planted in these flower gardens. These should be changed according to the season so that they become centers of attraction for passers-by and tourists and these streets of the city are known for their unique identity.
