Attention ‘Double attack’ of weather, ‘blind’ fog at some places and heavy rain at some places, IMD issued alert

As soon as the second week of January starts, the weather has started showing its harsh attitude. On one hand, while the entire North India is shivering with deadly cold and dense fog, on the other hand, a system rising from the Bay of Bengal in South India is bringing the threat of heavy rains.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for many parts of the country and advised people to be extremely careful for the next few days.

People of Delhi, there is ‘yellow alert’ today!

The morning of Delhi is still wrapped in a white blanket of dense fog. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ of dense fog in the capital for today.

• Minimum temperature: around 6 degrees Celsius.
• Maximum temperature: around 17 degrees Celsius.
  This simply means that today it will be difficult to see the Sun God throughout the day and there will be chill.

‘Cold Day’ wreaks havoc from UP to Bihar

‘Cold Day’ conditions will prevail in many areas of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Bihar for the next 1 to 3 days.

• Meaning of Cold Day: It means that there will be no sunlight during the day and the day temperature will also be very low, due to which icy winds will blow throughout the day.
• Apart from this, there will be ‘blind’ fog i.e. very dense fog in the morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, UP and Bihar for the next 5 to 7 days.

Clouds will rain in South India, there will be heavy to very heavy rain!

A deep pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal, whose effect is now going to be visible on South India.

• Tamil Nadu: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over the state on January 9 and 10.
• Kerala: An alert of heavy rain has also been issued in Kerala on January 10.

Fear of frost in the mountains

• Uttarakhand: There is a possibility of ground frosting in some areas between January 8 and 10, which can be harmful for crops.
• Meghalaya: Here too, frost may occur on January 8.

The Meteorological Department has especially advised people living in hilly areas, the elderly and children to take special care in this changing weather.
