Mumbai: Proving that Arjun Kapoor's commercial value as a film actor is zero, his and Bhumi Pednekar's film 'The Lady Killer' has been uploaded on YouTube for free viewing. Since no OTT platform showed interest in buying this superflop film, the producer finally had to compromise.
This film is one of the most unsuccessful films in Bollywood history. It was released in only 12 theaters in India last November and earned only Rs 38 thousand on the first day. Later it was revealed that the film was released theatrically incomplete. Actually the filmmakers had already signed a deal with an OTT platform. And due to the rule of keeping a gap of two months between OTT and theater release, the film was released in theaters in an incomplete manner.
However, the OTT platform backed out after the film failed at the box office and was found to be incomplete. The film was in limbo for the past ten months and finally the producer quietly uploaded it on YouTube, refusing to pay a single rupee for an OTT film.
This failure has proved that Arjun Kapoor is surviving in Bollywood only because he is the son of producer Boney Kapoor and is getting very few films but he has no commercial value as an actor.
