A tragedy that occurred in Iran on Sunday, May 19 has put the whole of Iran in mourning. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iran's Foreign Minister died in a helicopter crash due to bad weather. The debris and bodies of the helicopter were recovered after 17 hours of search operation conducted by more than 40 teams following the helicopter crash. However, the helicopter of the President of Iran crashed while leaving the border of Azerbaijan.
Following the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Iran's Supreme Leader Iman Ali Khamenei has announced five days of public mourning. After this, his Vice President Mohammad Mokhbaran has been appointed interim President. He will be the President of Iran for the next 50 days. Meanwhile, presidential elections will also be held. Along with the President, Khamenei has also appointed a new Foreign Minister. Ali Bagheri of Iran has been appointed the new Foreign Minister.
Regarding this, the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi has lowered its national flag at half mast. According to the information, the bodies of all the people including Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi have been found, hence now it has been announced to end the search operation at the helicopter crash site.
