So that farmers can protect their crops and get better prices in the market. For this purpose, the Office of the Director of Agriculture has suggested some important measures for integrated management of diseases and pests before and during sowing in cumin, fennel, coriander, fenugreek, parsley and dill crops.

To control black or black skin disease in cumin crop, it is necessary to sow the crop in rotation instead of continuously sowing cumin in the same field. Also, organic manure and nitrogenous fertilizers should be used as per recommendations.

To control powdery mildew, apply 10 ton per hectare manure, Diveli manure, Raida manure, poultry manure 2.5 ton per hectare or 05 kg. To prevent this disease, mix Trichoderma Harzianum with 3 tons of manure and fertilize it for 15 days and apply it in the soil in 1 hectare at the time of sowing.

Apart from this, disease resistant varieties like Gujarat Zero-4 and Gujarat Zero-5, Gujarat Fennel 2, Gujarat Fennel 11, Gujarat Fennel 12, Gujarat Fenugreek 2, GM-4 Supriya, Gujarat Coriander 2, Gujarat Coriander-4G. Varieties like COR 4 Sorath Suganga and Gujarat Suva 3 should be planted. Because humid environment is very favorable for black skin. Sowing of cumin seeds should be avoided or planted at appropriate distance next to water demanding crops like rye, wheat and alfalfa.

Apart from this, for disease control, before sowing the seeds should be treated with 03 grams of Thiram or 03 grams of Carbendazim fungicide per kilogram of seeds. At the same time, to control black skin disease of cumin, instead of sowing it, sow it in furrows at a distance of 30 cm and do inter-cultivation after irrigation. The containers for watering should be made very small and flat so that uniform and light watering can be provided.

To control root rot or stem rot disease in fennel, before planting, make a solution of 40 grams Trumba Yukta in 10 liters of water and dip the seeds in this solution so that this disease can be effectively prevented.

While using the medicine, follow the list as per the label given on the medicine which is the recommended dosage for that crop and the disease/pest it is meant for.
