Amul Dairy: Anand-based Amul Dairy has taken a historic leap since its inception. Amul's historical turnover has crossed the estimated Rs 12,880 crore. For the first time in the history of Amul Dairy, during the financial year 2023-24, the estimated turnover of Amul has crossed Rs 12,880 crore. Which shows an increase of about 9% compared to the previous year.
Amul Dairy Chairman Vipul Patel said that this year Rs. More than 1000 have given affordable milk prices. Which is an increase of 11 percent compared to last year. Amul purchased more than 173 crore kilograms of milk annually, showing a growth of 15% over the previous year. Over 3 lakh sex-linked sperm were used and over 60,000 HGM – heifers were born.
He further said that more than Rs 525 crore bonus rent will be given to cattle herders. Amul is committed to providing better prices to cattle farmers. Amul has not increased the price of animal feed even once. Milk prices have been increased thrice in a year. Now the cow dynasty will also be incarnated to increase milk production.
India's largest FMCG with a turnover of Rs 72,000 crore,
A report last year said Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the central body of all dairy cooperatives in Gujarat and marketing the Amul brand, has become the largest brand in the country. GCMMF, started in 1973 with only 6 members and a turnover of Rs 121 crore, currently has 18 member unions in Gujarat and collects more than 3 crore liters of milk. With a turnover of Rs 72,000 crore (US$9 billion), Amul has become India's largest FMCG brand. Currently Amul is the 8th largest dairy company in the world. This has added Rs 11,000 crore to the group's turnover in the year 2022-23.
