Akhilesh Yadav is no longer ‘black cat’ security! CRPF jawans will protect in Z category

A major change has been made about the safety of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. While earlier he had got the security of ‘Black Cat Commando’ of the National Security Guard (NSG) in India, now the Union Home Ministry has reduced their security level to ‘Z category’. He is now protected by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.

What was the first and what is their protection now?

Previously, Akhilesh Yadav was given security of the ‘Z Plus’ category, providing him with NSG (National Security Guard) commandos. The NSG commando is one of the most specialized and best trained security agencies in India. These commandos are capable of dealing with any serious threat and are known as ‘Black Cat’. The Z+ security usually consists of about 36 security personnel, including 24–36 NSG commandos as well as private security officers (PSOs), escort vehicles and several vehicles. This security is given to the country’s biggest personalities and the most serious threat to terrorist attacks.

But now, after the Central Government’s VIP security review, their NSG security has been withdrawn and they have been given the security of ‘Z category’. The security of the Z category is also considered one of the strongest security arrangements in India, although it is slightly lower than the NSG.

Z category security means:

T total in safety of z category 33 security personnel Are deployed. These 33 soldiers join:

• About 10 or more armed static guardsThose who protect the person’s accommodation.

• 6 Personal Security Officer (PSOS)Which are directly with VIP.

• 2 escort vehiclesWhich goes on the front and back of the VIP car for safety.

• These security personnel are usually from CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) or police of the concerned state. The current security of Akhilesh Yadav is being done by CRPF personnel.

From time to time, the central government continues to review the security status of various politicians and important personalities, on the basis of which security changes are made. This change is part of the same process.
