Mumbai: Gold and silver prices continued to fall in Mumbai jewelry market today. New demand remained slow. Selling of funds was seen increasing in the news of world market. Due to reduction in import cost in domestic market behind the world market, there were more sellers and less buyers in the jewelry market today. Silver price in Ahmedabad's jewelry market today fell by Rs 2000 per kg to Rs 84000. At the same time, gold prices in Ahmedabad fell by Rs 200 per 10 grams to Rs 99.50 to Rs 73800 and Rs 99.90 to Rs 74000.
The price of gold in the world market remained at 2493 to 2494 to 2495 dollars and the lowest level was 2508 to 2509 per ounce. Behind gold, the global price of silver also fell from 29.95 to 29.96 per ounce and the price remained at 29.18 to 29.20 to 29.21 dollars. There was talk of increased selling of funds in global gold due to the rise in dollar index and fall in crude oil prices in the global market.
Meanwhile, gold prices in the Mumbai bullion market today stood at Rs 71,404 at Rs 71,475 at 99.50 and Rs 71,691 at 99.90 at Rs 71,762, while silver prices in Mumbai stood at Rs 84,929 at Rs 85,962 without GST. Gold and silver prices in Mumbai were 3 per cent higher than these prices including GST.
In the world market today, the price of platinum was $ 936 an ounce. While palladium was $ 955. Globally, copper prices fell by two percent today. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil prices fell by $ 81.01 to trade at $ 77.95 to $ 78.46 a barrel. While the price of US crude was at a low of 76.91 to trade at $ 73.82 to $ 74.45.
