The Bridge Construction Corporation has said that the upper part of the bridge has collapsed due to the rising water level of the Ganga river and the fast flow. The Municipal Corporation has clarified that this area has already been damaged. What had to be removed is a part of it. The corporation says that no work is being done on this bridge since the last accident. According to the order of the Patna High Court, the construction agency will have to get the work of this part done afresh at its own expense. The corporation further said that work is going on to prepare a new plan.

Construction began in 2016

The approach road of the Agwani four-lane bridge will be made 440 meters long. Rs 128.64 crore is being spent on this. Also, the work of Agwani four-decker bridge was started in 2016 at a cost of Rs 1716 crore. The date of completion of the construction was fixed nine times, but the work was not completed. The slab of this bridge also collapsed in 2023

Due to the collapse of such a huge building, several feet high waves arose in the river Ganga. Due to which the people sitting on the boat in the river got scared.

It is being constructed by SP Singh Company. The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2014. This bridge is under construction since 2015. Its cost is Rs 1710.77 crore. The length of the bridge is 3.16 km.
