After winning the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on Sunday. Top leaders of India's neighbors and countries of the Indian Ocean region attended this grand ceremony. Muizzu said that he is happy with the Prime Minister's invitation. He was very happy to attend this program. He said that I am also grateful for the high-level meetings with the Prime Minister, President Dwaupadi Murmu and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. I am confident that strong bilateral relations will further strengthen the aspirations of Maldives in the future. Muizzu said that God willing, strong relations between the two countries will bring prosperity to Maldives and the people of Maldives alike.
Muizzu visits India
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that the President had come to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of India. During the visit, President Mohammad Muizzu attended a luncheon hosted by the President of India Dwaupadi Murmu in honour of the guests.
India-Maldives relations will be strengthened
The statement said that the two presidents also held a meeting in which they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Maldives and India. It said that Indian President Murmu wished the new government and people of Maldives. Murmu expressed confidence that the government led by Muizzu will take the island nation on the path of prosperity and development. A statement issued by the President's Secretariat in New Delhi said that Murmu expressed hope that India-Maldives relations will strengthen in the coming years.
