Toronto: The issue of atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh is now coming to light in other countries too. Earlier, the British Parliament had condemned the atrocities on Hindus. After which America had also asked both the countries to find a solution through talks. In such a situation, protests have started in other countries also. In Canada, Hindus took to the streets on a large scale against the Mohammad Yunus government of Bangladesh. The protesters claimed that after the atrocities, Hindus will be reduced from Bangladesh like Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Hindus protested against the High Commission of Bangladesh in Toronto, Canada. Some of them said that violence was being openly inflicted on Hindus to eradicate them from Bangladesh. This violence is being done by Mohammad Yunus, who is running the interim government of Bangladesh. The issue of Bangladesh is also being discussed in India. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also expressed concern on this issue. The RSS urged the central government to take strict action to stop the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Sangh’s All India Publicity Chief Sunil Ambedkar said that the central government will have to take strict steps for the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. At a program in Nagpur, he said that every Hindu should be angry with what is happening in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, acknowledged that 88 incidents of attacks on Hindus have been reported since the end of Sheikh Hasina’s rule. Yunus government’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam said that a total of 70 people have been arrested in connection with these incidents of violence. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who was on a visit to Bangladesh, told the parliamentary committee that during my visit, Bangladesh has assured to take strict action against those who spread violence. Muslim community leaders and clerics in India have also expressed concern over the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.
