Mathura, July 25 (HS). As soon as a person sets foot in a pilgrimage place, his sins start diminishing. The good deeds done in the abode of God are multiplied. Devotees who come to see God should avoid committing sins in pilgrimage places. Because the fruits of sins committed here are also multiplied.
The above thoughts were expressed by Devkinandan Maharaj on Thursday during the ongoing Shiva Mahapuran Katha at Priyakantju Temple. Here, in the Parthiv Shivling Nirman Mahotsav, devotees are making Shivling from the soil of Braj.
While narrating the story to the devotees of Lord Shiva, Devkinandan Maharaj said that real respect is not gained by wealth and power. Respect is gained by good deeds, behaviour and sweet speech. When Lord Brahma started criticising Lord Shiva to get himself worshipped, Bhairav destroyed one of his faces.
He said that the sins committed through mind are erased by meditation, sins committed through words should be erased by chanting. If sins are committed by body actions, then the person should atone for it by resorting to penance and fasting. Before this, in the temple premises, Shiv devotees made two lakh one thousand earthen Shivlingas from clay and worshipped them. By collectively anointing the Shivlingas with milk-curd-water etc., good wishes were made for world peace. The Shivlingas were immersed in Yamuna.
The main hosts Sudhir Kumar Verma, Shripal Jindal, Kamini Mishra performed the worship of the platform. SP Shrivastava, Brajlal Soni, Pushpa Pandey, Savitri Singh, Sandeep Gupta, Acharya Shyamsundar Sharma, Chandraprakash Sharma, Indresh Mishra, Dev Sharma etc. were present.
