The police have arrested the saffron-clad youth who entered the house of MP Ziaur Rahman Burke in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh and threatened him. The accused youth, Ajay Sharma, had earlier also been arrested for trying to worship in the mosque. After being released on bail, he repeated this act by entering the MP’s house.

Threat by entering MP’s house

On Thursday evening, 32-year-old Ajay Sharma, wearing a saffron scarf, entered the house of MP Ziaur Rehman Burke. The MP was not at home at the time, but his father Mamluqur Rahman Burke and other family members were present at the home. It is alleged that Ajay entered the house and used derogatory language and issued threats towards the MP and his father.

Family member Kamil informed the police. An attempt was made to catch the accused on the spot, but he escaped. While leaving, he also threatened to kill me. Based on Kamil’s complaint, an FIR was registered at Nakhasa police station. On Saturday, the police arrested Ajay Sharma and presented him in the SDM court, from where he was sent to jail.

Have tried to enter the mosque before also

Ajay Sharma also came into limelight on December 20, when he tried to enter the Shahi Jama Masjid and offer prayers. That day, during Friday prayers, he reached the mosque despite three-tier security. He bowed his head on the stairs and tried to worship. The police took immediate action and arrested him and sent him to jail.

The incident occurred despite the security of the mosque.

Shahi Jama Masjid is one of the sensitive places after the violence on November 24. There is a three-tier security system here every Friday. Despite this, on December 20, Ajay Sharma reached the mosque wearing a tilak on his forehead, a garland around his neck and a saffron towel.

After being released on bail, Ajay Sharma entered MP Burke’s house and threatened him. The police showed promptness and registered an FIR and arrested him.

Nakhasa police station in-charge Gajendra Singh said that an FIR has been registered against Ajay Sharma and he has been detained. Investigation has also revealed that the accused has been involved in such incidents in the past also. The accused has been sent to jail after presenting him before the SDM.
