A Pune bell exposed the government’s hollow claims to trade.

The post written by Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in Pune about a local guru has gone viral on platform X.

This CFA has posted a picture of the 17 pictures that have been placed by the owner of a flour mill, who is near his house. Of the 16 frame photos that the shopkeeper has put, 16 photos are of approval certificates that he had to get from various government departments to start this simple bell, while another photo is of the first page of the Constitution of India.

CFA Nitin S Dharmavat posted a picture of this shop and described it as a prime example of ease of trade in India. According to the author of the post, the owner of this bell is a very hardworking and honest man and respects the law very much. Therefore, he has received all the 16 approvals required to run the bell and has framed pictures of these approvals and put it in the shop. It is easy to imagine how much effort, time and time this shopkeeper would have had to spend in receiving all these approvals. If so much permission is required to run a small mill, it is the time of real change, and unfortunately, there is not much progress on the ease of doing business.

It is noteworthy that the World Bank last published the global Ease of Doing Business Report in 2020 and India was ranked 63rd in it. The trade easement index showing how favorable the regulatory structure is to start a new business in any country is called the Ease of Trade Easy Index.
