Kushinagar, September 4 (HS). Sunil Kumar Tripathi, Assistant Teacher of District Model Upper Primary School (Samvilyan) Rudwalia of Fazilnagar block of Kushinagar district has been selected for the State Teacher Award for the year 2023-24.
Sunil Kumar Tripathi, a resident of Mahason village, took over as the headmaster of the primary cadre of the said school in 2009-10. At that time, only two Shiksha Mitras were posted against 132 students. Without a boundary wall, a vegetable, meat and fish market used to be set up in the school in the afternoon itself. When the department built the boundary wall, then Sunil, along with Junior in-charge Ramkunwar Prasad, Shiksha Mitra Santosh and Sunaina Mishra located in the school premises, started a campaign to make the school a model school. In the year 2016, for making a model school, distributing saplings among the children and running a smart class, the school was declared a district ideal school and Sunil Kumar Tripathi was given a certificate and a cheque of one lakh twenty thousand rupees. In the year 2019, the then Basic Education Director Dr. Sarvendu Vikram Singh also awarded Sunil Tripathi at the state level as an excellent teacher. The award was given in the year 2018 after the school became a composite school. The then DM Andhra Vamsi and BSA, seeing the facilities of more than 400 students, smart and computer classrooms, CCTV cameras, sound system, white board etc., took the initiative to build two schools like Rudwalia in each Nyaya Panchayat. The then Governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra started biometric attendance in the school in 2019. Today, about 500 students from six villages are enrolled in this school. The students of the school are succeeding in the national income and merit based examinations and winning in Mandal level sports.
Eleven thousand plants distributed to children in twelve years: The teacher started gifting two plants to each enrolled child since 2012. More than 11 thousand plants have been planted in Rudwalia village so far towards environmental protection.
Apart from this, with the help of community, Sunil has set up smart classroom, science lab, biometric, CCTV camera, sound system, Saraswati temple, Mahatma Gandhi temple, Vivekanand entrance gate in the school. To make the daughters self-reliant, separate training is given in sewing and embroidery. For which four machines are also available in the school. After getting 100% enrollment of students passing class 8 in nearby inter colleges, the school family sends them off with passbook and ATM. Innovative teachers from many nearby schools took training from the selected teacher. The teachers are shaping the future of children by contributing in schools of remote districts.
District Basic Education Officer Dr. Ram Jiavan Maurya said that Sunil Kumar Tripathi has done a good job in the field of education in the school. His selection for the State Teacher Award is a matter of pride. All the teachers of the district should learn from him and do better work in schools.
