Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah welcomed the Prime Minister with special respect in Brunei Darussalam. PM Modi was given a guard of honour on his arrival in Brunei. In Brunei, PM Modi will hold talks with the top leadership of the country and discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Because this visit has taken place at a time when both the countries are celebrating 40 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.

In Brunei, PM Modi will hold talks with the country's top leadership

Prime Minister Modi described Brunei and Singapore as important partners in India's 'Act East' policy and its vision for the Indo-Pacific and said, 'My visit will strengthen India's partnership not only with both countries but also with the ASEAN region. PM Modi said, 'As we celebrate 40 years of these diplomatic relations, I look forward to my meetings with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other members of the royal family to take this historic relationship to new heights.'

The relations between the two countries will be strengthened

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister's visit will further strengthen India's cooperation with Brunei in all existing areas, including defence cooperation, trade and investment, energy, space technology, health cooperation, culture and people-to-people contacts. Opportunities for people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in new areas will be explored.
