Lucknow, 02 September (HS). A case of gang rape on the pretext of giving a woman work in a film has come to light on Monday in Chinhat police station area. In this case, on the basis of the complaint received from the victim, the police have detained two people.
According to preliminary information, a woman originally from Kanpur had befriended Chinhat resident Vipin Singh on social media Instagram a few days ago. He had introduced himself as a property dealer. On the pretext of getting her a role in a film, Vipin called her to a hotel in Matiyari area of Chinhat, Lucknow on 28 August. His relative Vinayam Singh and associate Himanshu were already present there. She was made unconscious by giving her intoxicants in tea and then she was raped.
The accused asked the victim to drop her home. It is alleged that she was raped in the moving car as well. When she regained consciousness, Vipin forbade her from telling anyone about the incident. When she reached her home in Kanpur in a serious condition, her family members questioned her after seeing her condition, then she told them the whole incident. On Sunday, the victim's family filed a case against the accused in Chinhat police station. DCP East said on Monday that the police is taking action in this incident by taking two people into custody.
